System Application Technician

System Application Technicians are responsible for engineering, software applications, and/or installation for assigned projects in order to assure a high quality project within budget, on schedule and to the owners’ satisfaction. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist Project Manager in the completion of hardware/software requirements of the project
  • Assist Project Manager in coordinating labor needs to productively complete assigned projects
  • Assists Lead tech on installation and troubleshooting of projects
  • Reports status of assigned projects/tasks to the Project Manager on a regular predetermined basis
  • Reduce operating costs by identifying cost saving ideas
  • Performs personal skills to ensure efficient and timely completion of assigned projects through
  • Programming, application engineering or technical work
  • Attend scheduled construction meetings as Project Manager dictates
  • Assures customer satisfaction by ensuring all applicable standards are being met and reviewing

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (BS) in a science or engineering discipline is preferred; or experience with commercial heating, air conditioning and control systems and/or access control systems. Five years experience in performing the specialty and skill they are directly involved with as a working member of a team.

Language Skills:

Must be able to effectively present and receive information in English, both formally and informally. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, architectural drawings, construction documentation and electrical diagrams. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Other Skills:

Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of construction practices including contractual agreements. Ability to work closely with others and practice productive people skills including coaching and training.

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:

The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Project Managers

Project Managers are responsible for project team and overall project success by ensuring a high-quality installation within budget and schedule. This position is also responsible for team employee administration and training. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible that all projects assigned to the team are completed in a thorough and timely manner to ensure a quality system is provided within the cost budget and schedule provided.
  • Coordinates efforts of other team members in order to productively complete assigned projects.
  • Performs personal skills in order to ensure efficient and timely completion of assigned projects whether this is programming, application engineering, or technical work.
  • Serves as the primary contact between Control Services and the other contractors and owners' representatives on a project.
  • Reports the overall progress of all assigned projects to Management on a regular predetermined schedule.
  • Scheduling for material and equipment delivery to meet job progress within purchasing department delivery schedule guidelines.
  • Coordinates job site storage, inventory and usage of material and equipment including loss and damage prevention.
  • Ensure complete job checkout and start-up procedures have been completed prior to turning the project over to the owner.
  • Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled job progress meetings to discuss project status and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Request and schedule with the need for additional work force to meet job schedules.
  • Supervision of any temporary work force assigned to the project including the administration of labor subcontracts.
  • Attendance at project kick-off meetings with the Sales Engineer to ensure adequate project preplanning has occurred.
  • Attendance at scheduled construction meetings as project requirements dictate.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by ensuring all applicable standards and codes are being met and reviewing team performance during the progress of the project.
  • Manages project documentation by ensuring that all team members understand the scope of work and associated responsibilities pertaining to documentation. Utilization of standard forms, letters, RFI's, change orders, productions reports, equipment orders, etc. is required.
  • Reduce operating costs by identifying cost saving ideas and ensuring all personnel are properly trained.
  • Improves team performance by effective coaching, goal setting, and productive feedback on performance.

A minimum of an Associates Degree in a science or engineering discipline from a two-year college or technical school is preferred; or equivalent experience with commercial heating, air conditioning control systems and/ access control systems. Five years of experience in performing the specialty and skill they are directly involved with as a working member of the team to include programming, application engineering, or technical work.

Installation Technician

Installation Technicians are responsible for the installation, checkout and troubleshooting of building automation control systems. Control Installation Technicians are required to successfully perform the following skills:

  • Ability to perform personal installation skills in order to ensure efficient and timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates job site storage, inventory and usage of material and equipment including loss and damage prevention.
  • Ensures complete job checkout and start-up procedures have been completed prior to turning the project over to the owner
  • Assures customer satisfaction by ensuring all applicable codes and standards are being met in regards to automation system installation
  • Ability to work both individually and as a member or leader of a team
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors and other trades on a project

This position requires the individual to be a Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience with commercial HVAC and Building Automation Systems.

Service Technicians

Service Technicians are responsible for the checkout and troubleshooting of building HVAC and/or building automation systems. Service Technicians are required to successfully perform the following skills:

  • Manage multiple service requests, inventory and usage of material and equipment
  • Ensure complete checkout of assigned service tasks and filling out of service tickets
  • Assures customer satisfaction by keeping the customer informed of tasks completed and potential issues that may need attending
  • Effectively communicate relevant service information to superiors and customers

This position requires a minimum of 2 year HVAC trade school or equivalent experience with commercial HVAC and Building Automation Systems.

Contract Sales

Contract Sales positions are responsible for sales and marketing, estimating and bidding for Building Automation Solutions for new construction and negotiated projects by personally performing the following duties:

  • Develop estimates and preliminary system design documentation that is concise, complete and legible for use by the design development staff.
  • Provide quality and timely service to maintain current customer base by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize effective sales and marketing strategies to increase gross revenues within the targeted company profit margins.
  • Prepare change order requests and interface with other outside members of a project construction team.
  • Develop relationships with potential customers throughout assigned sales territory including contractors, consulting engineers and building owners.
  • Develop personal weekly sales plans and sales activity reports.
  • Document the requirements associated with each project.

Service Sales positions are responsible for sales and marketing, estimating and bidding of Building Automation Preventative Maintenance, Technical Support and Service Agreements by personally performing the following duties:

  • Consultative selling and needs assessment with an ability to develop appropriate solutions
  • Experience selling to decision makers and technical managers including IT and Facilities Managers
  • Build lasting customer relationships and strong closing skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability, time management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to close business from a warm lead generating system and cold calling
  • Comfortable prospecting, networking, and cold calling
  • Excellent listening skills aiding is risk assessments and development of solution
  • Ability to maintain and manage CRM system on a daily basis

Service Dispatcher

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Responsible for the scheduling and dispatching of field service personnel to meet customer requests and expectations based upon the nature of the call, urgency, contractual obligations, available resources and customer needs. Ensures all service requests and dispatches are well documented, coordinated, prioritized and organized. This person is responsible for submitting related paperwork and electronic files to the appropriate person for handling and processing. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Education: Associate’s Degree (AA) in Communications; or equivalent experience in a dispatching role.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively present and receive information in English, both formally and informally. The person must have the ability to answer all incoming calls in an empathetic manner. The desired person must be able to speak with a pleasant tone, as your voice is the client’s first impression of our company.
  • Other Skills: Must be computer literate and able to understand and quickly learn the company’s software in order to do daily computer entry. Must also know the basic functions of, and able to operate, other routine software such as those in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to handle multiple duties back to back, such as answering more than one phone line, taking information quickly, completely and accurately and dispatching the information to a technician.
